Consultancy Support

Know why you're doing it. Training, bringing in a consultant, or any other intervention should be one integral part of the strategic plan for the organisation, along with policies, rewards systems and coaching.
Equality & Diversity impact assessments and action plans not only safeguard the organisation, they provide an operational structure to your organisations current policies and practices. Impact assessments provide the platform to re-establish relationships and a common goal, identify new opportunities, resolve outstanding issues and in most cases highlight the need for both vertical and horizontal integration within the organisation.

Where does your Organisation fit?
Definitions of the Four Organisational Environments

The Monocultural Organisation is unconscious at best and intentionally discriminatory at worst. Its motto might be "This is how we do it around here". The monocultural organisation might have a diverse work force but still only values the majority culture.

The Compliant Organisation still views diversity as a problem. Its motto is: "What do we have to do to stay out of trouble?" It's a numbers-based organisation.

The Multicultural Organisation has a diverse mix of employees with differences in race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disabilities, religion and beliefs. Often, this organisation has met the challenges of compliance, but it struggles to make the best of diversity.

The Inclusive Organisation appreciates what everyone in the organisation brings with them. Its Motto is: “Do we have everyone's input? Lets not miss the opportunity to be smarter than we are.”

Any organisation wishing to address Equality and Diversity issues needs to firstly understand where they are ”Right Now” through our Cultural Competency Assessment, organisations can gain a balance sheet view of their present level and also identify any possible barriers (whether they are apparent or invisible) which may restrict or discriminate against any particular group. Once your organisation knows where it is, it is easier to
establish where you want to be in the future.

Policies and Procedures and Service Provision

Organisations for example that tender for public sector contracts are now expected to evidence a commitment to Equality and Diversity. This commitment should be reflected in the services they provide but also through their policies and procedures. Through our consultation service we are at hand to provide any such organisation with practical
guidance on how to achieve this.

Please feel free to contact us regarding any Equality and Diversity issues or queries you may have.
